About Asharqia Chamber
Asharqia Chamber was established in 1372 AH (1952). Since its establishment and up to the present day, it has taken broad steps across various levels, starting with safeguarding the interests of its members and its continuous commitment to developing its services for its subscribers from the business community, to its contribution to developing the economy of the Eastern Province and its distinguished initiatives in serving the economy and society in the Kingdom. This has also been accompanied by its own administrative, organizational, and financial development, its constant openness to new developments in similar organizations around the world, its adoption of the latest systems and technologies in the business sector services environment, and its care for the interests of businesspeople. The Chamber has witnessed numerous developments and expansions at both the “horizontal” and “vertical” levels,
which has enabled it to occupy a prominent position among chambers of commerce and industry at the Arab and regional levels. One of the most notable indicators of this development is the growth in the number of its business subscribers, from (19 subscribing members) in Shawwal 1372 AH to more than (113,000 subscribing members) by the end of 2021. It has also grown from an old building consisting of one room and a hall to a building designed to be one of the landmarks of the Eastern Province, representing an engineering, architectural, and aesthetic masterpiece in the region, with its four floors that include, in addition to the offices of various departments and sections, several luxurious and elegant halls for international and local conferences, seminars, meetings, and exhibitions.
The Chamber expanded horizontally; instead of a single building represented by its headquarters in Dammam, it extended to various governorates of the Eastern Province to provide its services to businesspeople through its branches in Jubail, Khafji, and Qatif. Vertically, Asharqia Chamber continues to evolve. In this regard, the Chamber has witnessed several manifestations and forms of this development, including, for example: the establishment of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Center, the Training Center, the Investment Center, the Social Responsibility Center, the Businesswomen Center, the Special Services Center, and other services and centers that reflect, on the one hand, the Chamber’s directions and interests in serving the nation and the region, and, on the other hand, its keenness to adopt specific issues that affirm its future vision.
From this standpoint, the Chamber has played a broader and more impactful role in economic life, not only in the Eastern Province, but also in the Kingdom and the Arabian Gulf. Over more than five decades, the Chamber’s activities have grown until it has become one of the most important commercial and economic institutions in the Kingdom.
In light of this, the horizon of the future has expanded before the Chamber to keep pace with successive and increasing growth. It has worked, and continues to work, to keep pace with the civilizational renaissance experienced by the Kingdom, influencing it and being influenced by it. It has begun planning for the future as the best option for providing better services in quality and more services in quantity to its subscribers, in a manner that keeps pace with progress and expansion in the economic movement in the Eastern Province in particular and the Kingdom in general.
