Chairman of Asharqia Chamber’s Board of Directors Fahad bin Abdullah Al-Farraj met on Monday, January 19, 2026, with His Excellency the Ambassador of the Italian Republic to the Kingdom, Mr. Carlo Baldocci, in the presence of First Vice Chairman Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, Board member Aghareed bint Ihsan Abduljawad, and Secretary-General Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabel, at the Chamber’s main headquarters in Dammam.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on deepening economic relations between the Kingdom and Italy, and areas of cooperation between private sector representatives in the two countries were reviewed, including the exchange of trade delegations between the two countries.
Al-Farraj affirmed the importance of the economy of the Kingdom and the Eastern Province and the added value they bring to the Kingdom’s economic GDP, adding that today, as a business sector, we look forward to finding more new opportunities for the growth and prosperity of the economy and business between the two countries.
Al-Farraj noted that the Kingdom’s exports to the Italian Republic are diverse, ranging from mineral products, plastics and articles thereof, and organic chemical products to aluminum and articles thereof, and iron and steel, explaining that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries exceeded SAR 45.4 billion in 2024.
For his part, the Italian Ambassador, Mr. Carlo Baldocci, noted that there are promising opportunities to work together on developing investment, and that the next step in strengthening the partnership lies in the continuity of this cooperation, explaining that Italy and the Kingdom are working to strengthen coordination between companies in both countries, to ensure that major projects progress according to clear roadmaps and shared priorities.
The Italian Ambassador also toured the Chamber’s historical exhibition, and at the end of the meeting the Asharqia Chamber Chairman presented a commemorative shield to the Italian Ambassador.
