Dear Esteemed Chamber Subscribers,

May the peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you.

Asharqia Chamber extends its warmest greetings to you and would like to inform you that it has received the letter of the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. (45551190/20), dated (07/01/1448 AH), referring to the letter of the Transport General Authority No. (7145/47/1), dated (29/12/1447 AH), which includes the Authority’s reference to the follow-up by its supervisory teams of all transport activities to verify the compliance of the companies practicing these activities with the issued governing regulations. It has been observed that a number of companies, particularly (online stores, retail stores, restaurants, and supermarkets), provide delivery services for their goods, either through electronic applications that dispatch transport vehicles or through manually dispatched transport vehicles, and it has become apparent that some of these services are not licensed by the Authority and do not comply with the regulations governing these activities. The Road Transport Law provides for penalties of up to blocking applications, impounding vehicles, and deporting drivers. This requires these companies to hasten to rectify their status and obtain the statutory licenses, and to review the details and regulatory requirements for each activity.

The Federation urges online stores, retail stores, restaurants, and supermarkets to review their regulatory status and ensure they hold the licenses required by the Transport General Authority before providing delivery services or goods transport brokerage, in accordance with the Authority’s letter mentioned above.

Please accept our sincere regards and appreciation.
