Asharqia Chamber extends its warmest greetings to you and would like to inform you that it has received an email from the Federation of Saudi Chambers dated (11/5/2026), referring to the letter of the Saudi Ports Authority No. (1/38/28225), dated (16/11/1447 AH), which includes the reduction of the storage fee exemption period for transit goods for containers.
Legal basis:
- The Port Service Fees and Charges Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/42), dated (2/7/1405 AH), and its amendments.
- The regulatory and supervisory powers vested in the Saudi Ports Authority under Council of Ministers Resolution No. (299), dated (11/6/1439 AH).
- Saudi Ports Authority Circulars No. (4) of 2024 and No. (10) of 2025.
Instructions:
First: Reduction of the storage fee exemption period for transit goods for containers, flat racks, and trailers (standard containers and all classes of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) except classes (1), (5), and (7)) to (15) days at Jeddah Islamic Port.
Second: This circular takes effect from (5/5/2026), for a period of two months.
Third: The provisions of this circular apply to transit containers discharged from vessels at Jeddah Islamic Port from its effective date, and do not apply to transit containers discharged before that date.
Attachments: Storage fees for transit goods for containers, flat racks, and trailers (standard containers and all classes of the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG) except classes (1), (5), and (7)).
