Use of the Term “Persons with Disabilities” in Accordance with the Generous Directive

Asharqia Chamber extends its warmest greetings to you and would like to inform you that it has received the letter of the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. (45545694/19), dated (28/8/1447 AH), which refers to the Federation’s receipt of a telegram from the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities No. (000880-47-01), dated (21/8/1447 AH), regarding Royal Order No. (55528), dated (1/10/1440 AH), which approves the commitment to the term “Persons with Disabilities” in all official correspondence and media statements, and the circular of His Excellency the Chairman of the Board of the Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities No. (133474), dated (15/10/1446 AH), which urges entities to ensure compliance with the generous directive referred to above. The Authority for the Care of Persons with Disabilities has noted the use of different terms to describe persons with disabilities in some advertisements issued by the private sector on screens and billboards.
