Mahmoud ibn issam afandi, a consultant in the ministry of labor conducted a workshop for males titled “employee rights in the Saudi labor law.” Yesterday, October 12, 2015. He mentioned that many employees wish to be better informed about the laws that guarantee their rights before joining the workforce. Lack of knowledge of the laws might lead to worse consequences. Employees might find themselves unable to adjust to the work environment, which will consequently lead to carelessness and idleness. It might be attributed to lack of knowledge rather than actual carelessness thus, it is essential to teach employers and employees alike about their rights and responsibilities. Afandi mentioned that working should be an honorable profession. It is what prophets did beside being god’s messengers on earth was that they held jobs and worked. It is considered an honor and responsibility, which we can all learn from reading their stories. Such lessons should be applied in our daily jobs.

As for the private sector, he mentioned that it includes companies that are separate legal entities and are not directed by the government beyond their general responsibilities towards the country and society. The private sector has some benefits; amongst which is the high salaries and the constant investment in the employees training.
As for the labor law, Afandi said that is comprised of a number of rules that were put to organize the relationship between the employer and employee. This should protect the rights of both parties. He went on to recite a number of those laws, rules and responsibilities.

It is worth noting that the exhibit is considered as a real opportunity of job seekers whether recent graduates or experienced, to compete for jobs and find what fits their needs and capabilities from the supplied jobs in the exhibit.  It is a chance to get to know more about the participating companies.
