The Private Education Committee plans to hold an open forum with the owners of private and international schools in June 2009.The committee, chaired by Rasheed Abdul-Aziz Al-Hissaan, a member of Asharqia Board of Directors, said that the goal of the forum is to discuss topics of importance to the private education sector and to strengthen ties between private and international school owners.
The Committee also hopes to help with any difficulties that the private education sector has in order to improve the services they provide.
The Committee has also considered ways to connect the private education sector with relevant government agencies such as Civil Defense and the Labor Office. The Committee is aware of several difficulties that the sector faces such as the shortness of license permits obtained from Civil Defense and the inadequate number of work visas available for private schools.
