In cooperation with the National Program to Support Project Management in the public sector "Mashroat", Asharqia Chamber will organize a meeting to review the program's plans for achieving quality in public projects. It will be hosted at the headquarters of the Chamber on Sunday, July 15, 2018.
The Director General of the program, Eng. Ahmed bin Mutair Balawi, will meet during with the owners and businesswomen in the Eastern Province.
Hamad bin Hamoud Al-Hammad, a member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber and the Chairman of the Construction Committee, said that this meeting is held within the 2018 plan of the Construction Committee.
It deals with a number of themes and topics, most notably the definition of the program "Mashroat", ways to benefit from it, as well as listening to the observations and perceptions of contractors.
Al Hammad added that the Chamber's Contracting Committee is keen to improve the performance of contractors and raise the level of quality of their work to be consistent with the aspirations of the state and society, which made it in the national program.
The program was approved by the Council of Ministers in Resolution No. 485 of September 2, 2015 with the aim of improving the efficiency and quality of projects through the application of international best practices, and looking forward to benefiting from this program, which "seeks to support our choices in the application of quality in projects that we are implementing, and are stipulated in the vision of the Kingdom 2030."
Al Hammad added that the business sector in the Kingdom, especially the investors in the field of construction, is striving to achieve a double added value to the national economy, through accessing projects that were implemented by national companies to a high level of quality, and contribute to the development of our country. In fact, these projects form opportunities for national SMEs and vocational opportunities for qualified Saudi youth.
Therefore, the issue of communication with all governmental and non-governmental bodies and the recruitment of all expertise in this regard is one of the vital issues of our current economic mobility.
The vision of the national program to support the management of projects in public bodies is to seek to be a world-class program that represents the engine in order to achieve public projects with the highest efficiency and effectiveness and to have a sustainable impact on economic and social development.
At the same time, it carries this message, "Empowering project management offices in public agencies and developing a flexible environment for efficient project implementation and maximizing benefits."
The program has identified a number of objectives that includes, (Improving the efficiency and quality of projects, establishing standards for program management offices, applying the best global practices, and writing a standard project contract form to project management companies).
The program has entered a six-year evaluation phase and will be transferred to another party, as per the aforementioned Council of Ministers' decision.
It is noteworthy that one of the most prominent projects of the program is (Mashroat Institute), which was mandated to develop competencies and capabilities that will improve the professional and technical skills as well as leadership.
It would be done through the implementation of the "Knowledge Sharing and Transfer" programs. The Institute includes training sections on program management, research and development.
