East Chamber organize Wednesday a workshop entitled "The Importance of Intellectual Property on Entrepreneurship"
The East Chamber, represented by the small and medium enterprise center organize Wednesday 23 April 2014 workshop entitled 'Importance of Intellectual PropertyforEntrepreneurs ' with the presence of specialists at the Chamber headquarters in Dammam. Participating in the workshop held at 6 PM Director of innovation and invention in the GCC Mizel Alharbi, business development consultant in the program for technology incubators Abdullah Zaid as the workshop discussed several themes including: the importance of intellectual property, patent registration mechanism, ways of supporting inventors, in addition to reviewing some live and successful models.
The workshop aims to instill a culture of intellectual property and entrepreneurship, creating awareness among entrepreneurs on the importance of intellectual property in the documentation, to fostering creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship, the workshop also reviews the importance of intellectual property for small and medium-sized enterprises, brands, patents and innovation, secrets and basic trade rules as well as the challenges that small and medium-sized enterprises make careless about protection of intellectual property, including the lack of information regarding the use of intellectual property for business and costs associated with intellectual property rights.
The Workshop aim on enhancing competitiveness and the sustainable development of small and medium-sized enterprises in domestic and international markets and promote the concept of a knowledge-based economy through guidance about how to manage IP assets, as well as increased awareness among entrepreneurs with types of IP rights and thinking by prior and appropriate procedures before entering the local market electronic or international.
