The CEO of the Eastern Province Development Authority, Engineer Omar bin Saleh Al-Abdulatif, is participating in the scientific program of the Logistics Integration Forum 2024, organized by the Asharqia Chamber of Commerce under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the Prince of the Eastern Province, on Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Chamber's headquarters.

Rakan bin Abdulrahman Al-Ataishan, Chairman of the Logistics Committee at the Chamber, emphasized that the forum aims to attract officials and experts in the logistics sector to enrich the forum sessions with the latest developments in the industry and to showcase the most important projects to businesses and stakeholders. He explained that the logistics sector plays a vital role in providing goods and services to companies and consumers and is abundant with various investment opportunities that require in-depth market study and evaluation of available opportunities.

Al-Ataishan stated that several challenges can be transformed into real investment opportunities if appropriate solutions are proposed. It is imperative to keep up with the increasing demand for global shipping services, especially with the rise of e-commerce, and to provide modern and advanced storage facilities and establish distribution companies to meet the growing demand for fast delivery and efficient distribution. Additionally, there is a need for technological advancement in the logistics sector, such as Internet of Things, shipment tracking, and supply chain management improvement. Investment in cold chain shipping, hazardous shipping, and healthcare logistics services is also essential, along with investment in supply chain integration to improve coordination between relevant parties in the supply chain to achieve better logistical efficiency.

It is worth mentioning that the forum serves as a platform for experts and professionals in the field to engage with officials responsible for developing the logistics sector, to review innovations, and to identify best practices and solutions in the industry.​
