    Urging the private sector to play a bigger role to maximize the benefits of joining the WTO




     
     
     
    Study: Chambers must support the establishment of associations concerned with the sector institutions affairs
     
     
    A study issued by the Center of Studies and Researches of the Eastern Chamber highlighted the for private sector role represented by the Chambers of Saudi Arabia, to strengthen its role to maximize the benefit of the Kingdom's accession to the WTO to be an officially supported by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
     
    The study emphasizes the private sector benefit from the Kingdom accession, through organization activities through the publication of outlines on the general issues that arise under the framework of the Organization, and direct communication with the World Organization formally through the Council of Saudi Chambers as a non-governmental institutions Representative of the Saudi private sector.

    The study urged for positive interaction by chambers of Saudi Arabia, with the economic and social developments in the Kingdom during the last five years, which followed the Kingdom's accession to the WTO, through the private sector awareness of the issues raised through their world organization, and work to care for and support the establishment of associations means the affairs of private sector institutions.
     
    The study emphasized the need for Kingdom government sectors to take necessary actions to activate the role of the national commissions to connect positively with the World Trade Organization through the issuance of the necessary regulations and legislation to facilitate the establishment of new non-governmental organizations to businessmen and businesswomen and to provide financial support to do so.
     
    The study recommended the need to interest the private sector to submit proposals for the Kingdom Ministry of Commerce to strengthen the position of the government under the framework of the WTO committees.
     
    The study appealed the Saudi companies to develop strategies to meet the economic challenges resulting from joining the WTO  ... calling for a study of the WTO Agreement to analyze its negative and positive effects on the business in order to reach practical mechanisms to maximize the positives and minimize the negatives, and the care for Saudi labor training and education to ensure their viability in light of global economic developments and the establishment of research departments and legal services to help develop strategies to deal positively with economic and legislative changes that surround the companies work.
     
    Therefore, the study acknowledged that corporate officials must be familiar with the business regulations and policies applicable to them which they can easily adhere to and interact with it positively.
