Sudanese Trade Team Visits Asharqia Chamber Aug 30
Asharqia Chamber has invited businessmen and interested parties to attend a meeting with the Sudanese trade delegation, which will be visiting the Chamber after the Noon Prayer on August 30, 2009.
The Sudanese delegation will be headed by Dr. Ahmed Majzoub Ahmed. The delegation consists of investors and businessmen from the agriculture and industrial sectors.
This visit of the Sudanese delegation is taking place in the wake of growing trade and economic relations between the two countries, especially in the field of agricultural investment in Sudan, where the Kingdom has become the largest Arab investor as ranked by Khartoum. Saudi Arabia is the world's second largest investor in Sudan after China.
The Saudi-Sudanese bilateral trade relations have received a new push after a number of reciprocal visits of trade delegations between the two countries. Last week, the Economic Adviser at the Embassy of Sudan in Riyadh visited Asharqia Chamber and met with Chamber Secretary General, Mr. Adnan A. Al Nueim.
The two-way trade between Saudi Arabia and Sudan has increased significantly in recent years. The volume of trade exchanges between the two countries reached approximately $ 850.543 million in 2008. Saudi investments in Sudan at the end of the last year amounted to $3854 million through 79 projects in the industrial field, 20 projects in the agriculture and 154 projects in the service sector.
