Saudi Arabia Enjoys Strong Ties with Sudan

Mr. Adnan A. Al Nueim, Secretary General of the Asharqia Chamber, has said that Saudi Arabia is enjoying buoyant trade and economic relations with Sudan with its recent significant agricultural investments pouring into the brotherly country.
Mr. Al Nueim observed this in a meeting with Mr. Hussein Suleiman Koya, Economic Adviser at the Sudanese Embassy in Riyadh at the Asharqia Chamber on August 18, 2009. He disclosed that Saudi investors have already identified Sudan as a favorable country for the development of large-scale agricultural projects under the Kingdom's food security program.
Mr. Koya noted that with these recent noticeable agricultural investments, Saudi Arabia has become the largest investor in Sudan among the Arab countries and is ranked the second largest globally after China. He pointed out that Sudan is very much interested in improving trade and commercial relations with Saudi Arabia.
During the meeting, Mr. Al Nueim exchanged views with Mr. Koya on a number of issues related to trade and investments and discussed ways and means to further bolster trade ties between the two countries. He also highlighted enormous trade and investment opportunities in the Kingdom particularly in its Eastern Province.
Mr. Al Nueim urged the businessmen from both Sudan and Saudi Arabia to reap benefits of existing strong trade relations between the two countries which uphold common culture and values. "We must take advantage of current buoyant relations and continue to work to further strengthen these relations for the mutual benefits of the two brotherly countries," he said.
