A Human Resources Development Fund (HDF) official said that the Fund's on-the-job training program is one of the mechanisms for attracting unemployed people for more than six months as well as job seekers- holders of bachelor's degrees and above- to the governmental, semi-governmental, and private sector companies. An introductory lecture on this program was held on Tuesday 24/4/2018 in Asharqia Chamber.
During this lecture, Muteb Alwadie stated that the program "Tamheer" aims to raise the skills of graduates of local and foreign universities through providing them with practical experience in on-the-job training opportunities; helping the job seekers and those who need to refine or update their skills to access appropriate training opportunities; supporting Saudi graduates through training in the outstanding companies that may contribute to their employment; and providing the opportunity for companies to identify and experience national cadres at no cost during the training period. Therefore, this would lead to deliver the companies to a large segment of job seekers with minimal effort through the electronic platform, and raise the employment rates of Saudis and raise their percentage among entrants to the labor market.
He added that the program integrates the capacities of the Human Resources Fund (HDF) with the expertise in private sector companies in order to create a new generation of Saudi employees in a training program that offers promising opportunities to all-trainees and private sector companies- and the homeland as well. He pointed out that the companies involved in the training of Saudi cadres in the program "Tamheer" has many advantages such as filling their needs of employees through access to extensive databases on employment, with the possibility of an employee experience for up to 6 months at no cost. In addition, the Tamheer program provides companies with the opportunity to contribute to a national initiative and to fulfill their social responsibility towards the country and its youth.
As for the mechanism of work of the program, he said that it is proceeding according to several steps. The first step begins with the employer presenting the training opportunities available in his company on the National Labor Gateway "TAQAT" within the Tamheer program. The second step is when the job seekers apply for suitable training opportunities through the portal. The third step is to verify the applicant's data and complete his file of the basic conditions for joining the program. The fourth step is when the employer chooses the most suitable candidates to join the training in the facility. The fifth step is that the trainee has to complete the requirements through "Doroob" platform where he passes on-line training programs in order to be prepared for the start of training on the job. The sixth step, the trainee will undertake his duties at the facility for a period of between three and six months, as determined by the training opportunity.
He pointed out that the Human Resources Development Fund (HDF) pays a monthly stipend to the trainee at the sum of 3000 riyals per month, in addition to insurance against professional dangers to the trainee throughout the training period. The trainer facility can also grant it the features it deems appropriate; this is at the time of the establishment of a periodic report on the trainee and the success of the training program. The trainee will give his opinion on the training program during and after the end of the program via the Doroob platform. After the training period, the Human Resources Development Fund (HDF) grants a certificate of experience to the trainee.
