The Chairman of the German-Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Peter Ramsauer, said that German companies are keen to work with their Saudi counterparts to successfully implement the various economic programs adopted under the Saudi Vision 2030 that opens up a wide range of Saudi-German joint economic activity.

On Wednesday 23 January 2018, a German trade delegation visited Asharqia Chamber and met a number of businessmen in the Eastern Province, where it advised Saudi industrial companies that are based on oil and petrochemicals to diversify their goods and services exported.

It expressed full readiness to cooperate with Saudi companies to be present in German markets.

For his part, deputy head of Asharqia Chamber, Badr bin Sulaiman al-Rizaiza, called German companies to take advantage of the investment opportunities that are available in the Saudi market, especially in the Eastern Region, which is the heart of industrial activities not only in the Kingdom, but in the entire Gulf region.

He explained that the industrial activities are now ready to receive more investments, and interact with many projects, especially after the launch of the multi-billion-dollar King Salman Energy Project.

Al-Rizaiza said the Eastern Region is a home to the world's oil, gas and petrochemical industries, which depends mainly on the two industrial cities in Jubail I and II.

There is also a mining city developed in Ras Al-Khair area in this region, as it is designed to increase the value of Saudi non-oil exports, especially in the metals sector.

Al-Rizaiza stressed that the extensive reforms witnessed by the Kingdom have generated tremendous trade and investment opportunities in all sectors of the Saudi economy from the entertainment industry to traditional industries, to oil and gas, and manufacturing industries.

He pointed out that these opportunities prompted foreign companies to promote their products and services in the Saudi market.

According to official statistics, trade between the two countries reached 31 billion Saudi riyals in 2017, where Saudi imports from Germany amounted to 29.5 billion riyals, and its exports to Germany amounted to 1.5 billion Saudi riyals.

In addition, more than 200 German companies were represented through their branches and offices in the Saudi market.

The German delegation is a group of companies specializing in manufacturing, engineering, chemicals, healthcare, logistics, banking, risk and crisis management, legal affairs and consulting.

The meeting was attended by Board members Bandar Al-Jabri, Dhari Al-Atishan, Najib al-Sihaati, and the Secretary General of the Chamber Abdulrahman Al-Wabil.
