During a workshop organized by the Chamber
Endowment committees' in the Saudi Chamber calls for regulatory and legislative environment in the kingdom.
' Endowment committees' workshop hosted by the Chamber last Thursday (September 12, 2013) Confirmed the importance of spreading endowment culture in social circles, as an important step to publicize the growing value of endowments for the regulation of social and economic life. The workshop emphasized that the participation of representatives of the committees in a number of Saudi Arabia (Mecca, Medina, Riyadh, Jeddah, Eastern region) on the importance of the development of the regulatory and legislative environment for religious endowments, through projects that rely on that. Attendees reviewed the papers dealt with the visions and messages and objectives for each Committee, and the importance of creating compatible centers in chambers of Commerce, foundations and endowments, information centers and besides making use of modern scientific technology such as social media and the Internet to disseminate cultural endowments, noting the role of traditional and modern media.
Attendees also agreed on the importance of finding innovative, Waqf projects based on extensive community participation. The workshop stressed also on the need for highly specialized persons in Waqf process and methods and how to develop it, and noted the need for training in this aspect. The participants also demanded formal cooperation to support the activities of the committees in the Chambers.
