Five important files dominated the discussions of the extended training meeting that was held by the Education and Training Committee in Asharqia Chamber on Sunday, 2 December 2018.
The meeting was attended by a number of owners and companions of training centers in the Eastern Region.
It was moderated by the Vice-Chairman of the Committee, Abdul Wahhab Al-Khilawi.
The importance of developing the training regulations in general was emphasized to include institutes, trainers and curricula.
The first issue was the relationship with the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation.
The attendees called for more incentive measures for training centers and institutes, especially in granting some necessary permits and licenses.
In this regard, the meeting emphasized the positive situation in the communication between the sector and the public institution, especially in their use with the proposals and visions of institutes and private centers.
It hopes of further actions that give the centers more tender and provide more programs consistent with the status of the labor market.
The meeting discussed the new developments carried out by the Corporation towards eliminating discrimination between centers.
It also discussed the wages and fees paid by specialized NGOs in training, and the extent of the status of the training centers in general, and their suffering from more than one, most notably the lack of classification of centers, which weakened the state of competition between the centers and affected the status of official institutions, which are committed to a lot of material obligations such as rents, service fees, and wages of trainers.
In this regard, the attendees suggested that institutions should have clear strategies and that a culture of integration be encouraged to meet future challenges.
The role remains large on the institutes, as they conclude clear working agreements with training bodies with great experience such as foreign universities, which are adopted by the Vocational and Technical Training Corporations, and to take advantage of the facilities provided by the Corporation in this regard.
The meeting also discussed the reality of the training curricula, where the importance of reconsideration was emphasized, and curriculum and its development according to the labor market.
The Saudi trainers are the best option for large local companies, rather than bringing foreign trainers and the significant material costs involved, and multiple legal procedures that will take the effort, time and money.
They praised the Corporation's step in launching the licensed driver's license program according to specific criteria that allow the Saudi trainers to practice more.
The meeting also discussed the relationship of the institutes with the Training and Education Committee in Asharqia Chamber, as the Committee is one of the Committees of the Chamber, and strives to develop this sector, and activate its role in the development.
