Eastern Health –the Ministry manages its projects in the regions with decentralization

AL saluke: the Ministry of Health takes the decentralization as a followed path in the management of its construction projects in the regions
The Director General of Health Affairs in the Eastern Province D. Saleh Bin Ali Al saluke assured that the administration is working on fixing the gaps that interrupt its construction projects and updating its system for primary care according to the international rules, and developing the philosophy of its employees in dealing with the public, pointing that merely being interested in the service demanding persons and listening to them solves 40% of the amount of the problems they offer.
Al saluke said that Health Ministry is now taking the decentralization regarding the management of its constructive projects as a followed path, and that by giving the mission of supervision to the sub departments in the regions, which will have the greatest impact in accelerating its completion and inauguration it , noting that since he took responsibility last January, he put in mind a specific road map according to a clear vision that aims at fixing the causes of stalled projects, and then completing its building to open as soon as possible.
Al saluke was a guest to in the Tuesday Monthly meeting in East Chamber last Tuesday (1 March), which was attended by Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chamber, Abdul Rahman bin Saleh Al Ataishan, and a number of members of the Board of Directors and management of the Secretary General, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al wabel, and the presence of a number businessmen and professionals interested in the health issue.
Al saluke pointed through a visual presentation to a number of ongoing projects under work to be accomplished in the coming periods and will be subjected to the direct supervision of the Directorate of the region, such as Khobar central hospital with a capacity of 500 beds, Abqaiq hospital , which surpassed the achievements of 60 ratios to 70%, and delivery and children hospital in Qatif with a capacity of 300 beds, pointing to other projects almost completing, such as Prince Mohammed bin Fahd General Hospital for blood genetic diseases with a capacity of 200 beds, and Jubail Central Hospital project by achievement percentage surpassed 80%, and the Dentistry Centre in Qatif with capacity of 50 clinic which will be opened by the end of this year.
Al saluke also revealed that next week will witness the launch of 100 beds for premature babies and intensive care in the maternity hospital in Dammam, considering that center serves as a quantum leap, especially that it is based on a modern system in the care provision where is the double care for the mother and the premature child delivered simultaneously .
Al saluke also spoke about Dammam Medical Compound and the expected expansion to it, saying it will include a center for accidents injuries, airstrip and many of the supportive services, explaining that the old Compound will be attached to the new across a bridge between them, pointing that there will be a project of establishing a hospital West Dammam with a capacity of 500 beds.
And regarding the private sector, Al saluke said , we are in the process of studying a distinctive partnership with the local private sector in relation to King Khalid Medical city, according to the system of «BBB» that is followed in many countries of the world.
And Al saluke listened to suggestions by the audience regarding many subjects specially those related to the provided health services, medical awareness, autism and suggestions to increase its centers in the region, and remote areas and how to deliver health services to them and, finally, ways to develop the health system, that corresponds with the needs of the citizen.
