Eastern Business Youth Explore Investment Opportunities in Qatar
As part of its foreign visits program, the delegation of the Business Youth Council of the Asharqia Chamber departing for the State of Qatar met with His Highness the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the State of Qatar, Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan, where the meeting reviewed the importance of exchanging visits that reflect investing in distinguished opportunities to enhance economic relations and exchange experiences between young people in both countries.
The Chairman of the Council, Abdulrahman bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Afaleq, said that the delegation met during the visit with a number of officials in various sectors in the State of Qatar during the visit that began on Sunday, October 27, 2024, and also met with some specialists to review the appropriate investment opportunities for male and female entrepreneurs in the two countries, indicating that these meetings are in line with the directions and goals of the Council, which is to prepare a new generation of Saudi youth of both genders through the exchange of views, foreign missions, qualification, training and support, in order to enhance their skill level, which allows them to compete in the global economy.
Al-Afaleq said that as part of its visit program, the delegation met with the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for Industry and Business Development in the State of Qatar, Mr. Saleh bin Majid Al-Khulaifi, to review the support and facilities provided to male and female entrepreneurs, which contributes to building bridges of communication and enhancing the initiative among young people, and reviewing the most prominent investment opportunities for investors. The delegation also met with the Director General of Qatar Chamber, Ali Al-Mansouri, and a number of leaders to discuss ways to encourage joint projects between Saudi and Qatari youth. The delegation also visited Qatar Development Bank, and met with the Bank's Incubation Manager, Muhammad Al-Muslim, where he was briefed on the means of support provided by the bank to male and female entrepreneurs and the capabilities it provides in the industrial sector, in addition to providing the appropriate environment for developing ideas and projects. The attendees also listened to an explanation of the different stages of growth for emerging entrepreneurs in Qatar, and the mechanisms that enhance growth, which contribute to supporting the project and expanding it in future periods. Al-Afaleq explained that the Council seeks, through the external visits program, to provide a clear picture of the diversity of businesses and the level of existing investment opportunities, and how to benefit from them, in addition to the ambitions of male and female entrepreneurs and their ability to create ideas and transform them into successful business projects.
The Chairman of the Eastern Province Youth Business Council, Al-Afaleq, extended his thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to the success of this practical trip to the sisterly State of Qatar, and everyone who supported the Council in implementing
the provisions of the work plan, and thanks to all entities, companies and economic institutions in the Qatari public and private sectors, for the good reception and support that the Council received, stressing that the trip constituted comprehensive new knowledge that the Council will transfer to entrepreneurs in the Eastern Province in particular, and the Kingdom in general, enabling them to develop their ideas and achieve success in their projects.
It is noteworthy that the volume of trade exchange between the Kingdom and Qatar increased by 93.86% in 2023 compared to 2022, with a value exceeding 5.3 billion Saudi riyals.
