In a program implemented by Al Sharqia Chamber, represented by the Social Responsibility Center, titled "The Program of Using Community Responsibility Initiatives and Mechanisms for Improving Institutional Reputation", which was held at the Chamber in Jubail, over two days ended on Wednesday 22 March 2017. He added that social responsibility is not only a humanitarian or social program, but an administrative approach based on social and environmental responsibility as a part of the institution strategy and economic goals. He pointed that social responsibility has different dimensions and is based on a number of principles, Voluntary, and economic, social, environmental, legal and administrative requirements ".
He referred to the Global Compact and said that it is a voluntary initiative to enhance the citizenship and partnerships in support of the UN goals. He said that this agreement is based on ten principles on respecting and not violating human rights by institutions, Labor standards, such as justice in jobs and occupations, the elimination of all forms of forced labor, the preservation of the environment and the fight against corruption in all its forms.
He reviewed the advantages and benefits of institutions (both locally and internationally) through commitment to society and said that the socially responsible institution has the principles of accountability, transparency, ethical behavior, respect for the interests of the concerned groups and respect for the rule of law. , not engaging in any deceptive practices of the consumer, and stresses the competitive advantage to ensure the continuity of the culture of creativity, and seeks to attract and maintain qualified employees. He stressed that the result of all these factors is the good reputation of the institution with the public, and the high value to investors and sponsors and the financial community in general.
He pointed that a study by an international company in 2013 that 76% of consumers prefer to deal with institutions that implement the programs of social responsibility more than with the institutions of the monthly brands, and the study showed that employees in institutions that apply these programs have loyalty to their institutions by 87% more than employees in other institutions and 83% of new employees who want to work for these institutions.
