Businessmen to Visit Hospitals in Ramadan
The Patients Friends’ Committee of Asharqia Chamber has undertaken a unique program to organize visits of a group of businessmen to a number of hospitals in the Eastern Province. These visits were aimed at enquiring about the health of patients of the hospitals on the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan and supporting hospitals to increase their services to patients.
Mr. Adnan A. Al Nueim, Secretary General of Asharqia Chamber, said that these visits have been organized by the Chamber as part of its numerous activities of social and charity works. The businessmen will visit a number of hospitals including Dammam Medical Complex, Dhahran General Hospital, Al-Qatif Central Hospital, King Fahd University Hospital in Al-Khobar, Al-Amal Hospital and Birth & Children’s Hospital in Dammam.
Mr. Al Nueim noted that the Chamber as part of its preparations will hold a General Assembly of the Patients Friends' Committee, chaired by the Deputy Governor of the Eastern Province, H.H.Prince Jalawi BinAbdul-Aziz Bin Musa'ed, on September 9, 2009 at the Chamber premises. Prince Jalawi is the Honorary Vice Chairman of the Friend's Committee.
Asharqia Chamber is the first Saudi Chamber that established the Patients Friends’ Committee based on the concept of assuming more social responsibility more than a quarter century ago. This Committee was formed with the support and assistance of the region's businessmen.
During the last 25 years, businessmen of the Eastern Province have made generous contributions to the programs and initiatives of the Patients Friends’ Committee. Their total contribution has so far amounted to more than SR400 million since the inception of the Committee in 1403H. This huge amount of donations by the businessmen has been utilized to establish public and specialized medical centers in a number of cities and regions in the Eastern Province and to purchase advanced medical equipment, machinery and devices to serve the patients and to raise medical services in many hospitals, clinics and medical units in the region.
