    Asharqia Chamber launches today the activities of the Waqf Practices Forum 2022 AD

    Today, under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Ahmed bin Fahd bin Salman, Deputy Governor of the Eastern Region, the Asharqia Chamber is launching the activities of the Forum (Waqf Practices 2022 AD ... Creativity and Endowment Innovation) in strategic partnership with the General Authority for Endowments, at the Chamber's headquarters at nine o'clock. morning until four in the evening.

    About 17 endowment bodies and 16 experts in the endowment field will participate in the forum, discussing in five sessions several topics related to creative and innovative practices and experiences locally and globally that have positive returns on increasing the return from endowments in line with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

    The forum aims to increase innovative practices and entities in the endowment field in the Kingdom, stimulate and promote a culture of innovation in endowment practices, review the most prominent global and local innovative practices in the field of endowments, enhance coordination and integration between endowment entities in the field of innovation, as well as present innovative opportunities in the applications of endowment technologies.

    The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asharqia Chamber, "Badr bin Suleiman Al-Raziza", said that the forum is an extension of the Chamber's plan and a complement to its map to encourage the business sector to establish endowments and provide full support to those who wish to establish endowments, pointing out that this forum presents a new message about the mechanisms of innovation and creativity. The endowment sector is a vital sector that keeps pace with the development process that the country is waging in various fields.

    Al-Raziza explained that the forum reviews successful practices and experiences in upgrading the endowment, as well as the latest innovative and creative tools in achieving sustainable endowment growth, stressing the importance of the forum topic where creativity and innovation endowment, which supports the expected goals of the endowment sector in the Kingdom by increasing its growth and expansion and reformulating it according to the latest frameworks administrative organizational.

    Al-Raziza pointed out that the forum, with its papers presented, which deals with all topics related to creative and innovative endowment practices, targets leaders of endowment work and the non-profit sector, researchers and consultants in the field of endowments, as well as all those interested in international and Arab awards in the field of creativity and institutional innovation, researchers and consultants specializing in Endowment creativity and innovation, as well as new endowments and those looking for new fields of endowment, members of the Board of Trustees of Endowments, and others interested in the endowment field.

    Al-Raziza alluded to the attention and care given by the wise leadership to the endowment sector, which contributed to its development and development and the strengthening of its role in the country’s development process, and it has become at the forefront of our other economic sectors with its huge economic, social or civilized returns.

    For this part, the Chairman of the Endowment Committee, Ayed Al-Qahtani, said that this new session of the forum comes as a continuation of the research on the topic of upgrading endowment practices in line with international standards, especially in terms of increasing returns, noting that the forum sessions include about 14 working papers that try to cover All aspects of creativity and endowment innovation practices;  In its first session, entitled Establishing a Culture of Innovation and Looking to the Future for Endowments, and moderated by Abdul Salam Al Jabr, a member of the Endowments Committee in the Asharqia Chamber, Dr. Odeh bin Rashid Al-Jayousi, from the Arabian Gulf University, reviews the innovation labs for the development of the endowment, and Dr. Saleh Yousef Al-Ansari, from SIS Consulting, The Role of National Innovation Systems in Creating a Supportive Environment for Innovation in the Endowment Sector, and Dr. Sarhan Shaman Al-Shammari, from the University of Hail, Innovation Systems and their Integration in Endowments.


    The second session, entitled Innovative Financial Techniques in Endowments, will be moderated by a member of the Awqaf Committee in the Chamber, Engineer Anas Al-Dowayan, during which Mr. Faisal bin Muhammad Al-Shamsi, from the Islamic Development Bank, reviews the mechanisms of the Endowment Property Investment Fund, and Engineer Abdul Rahman Al-Rashoud, from the General Authority for endowments, The impact of crowdfunding platforms on the sustainability of the non-profit sector, Dr. Will Pritchard, who presents a working paper on the UK endowments "Empowering Social Innovation", and Eng. Meshari bin Fahd Al-Juwaira, founder and member of the Council of the Technical Transformation Endowment Glasses, reviews the experience of stopping technical transformation in digitization The non-profit sector, Mr. Jeremy Tcal, of the Waqf Bank. 


    Regarding the third session, Al-Qahtani said, it is a dialogue session moderated by Dr. Salem Al-Qahtani, member of the Endowments Committee in the Asharqia Chamber, in which Mr.​ Hisham Al-Hogail reviews innovative opportunities for endowments service, while the fourth session is entitled Innovative practices and initiatives in the endowments, moderated by Professor Raed Khalil Al-Eid, member of the Scientific Committee. Five working papers will be presented, the first of which is by Dr. Hassan Azkanin, from the American University in Morocco,​ During which he reviews the practices and experiences of Western endowment institutions in the field of technological innovation, and the second is for Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Nassif, from the Institute of Islamic Economics at King Abdulaziz University, in which Prof. Dr. Abdullah Nassif reviews the “Social Innovation Orientation” and the third is about supporting innovative endowments in the health and education sectors, by Professor Ali Al-Mutawa from the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, the fourth on innovation in crowdfunding “international experiences” by Professor Atef Al-Shabrawi from the World Bank, and the fifth and final paper on the Social Entrepreneurship Incubator of Mr. Ahmed Khaled Al-Ajam from the Med Trust Foundation, Endowment Without Borders.

    In the fifth and final session, Eng. Musa Al-Mousa, a member of the Endowment Committee in the Asharqia Chamber, will review the most important recommendations made in the forum, hoping that the General Forum will be a new addition to the endowment sector in the region and the Kingdom, with its summaries of endowment experiences at home and abroad, which were able to present practices Innovative and creative that supports endowment entities and supports their continuity by the developments in economic structures worldwide.​
