Within the project of the Kingdom transformation into an international logistics center
Asharqia
Chamber hosts on Sunday, March 12 this morning, in
collaboration with the Ministries of Transportation and Economy and Planning, a
workshop titled "logistics platform", and in the
presence of His Excellency the Chairman of the Public Transportation Committee,
Dr. Rumaih Al Rumaih, and the head of the General Ports Committee, Dr. Nabil Al
Amoudi, His Excellency Director General
of customs, Ahmed Al Hagbani and dersecretary
of the Ministry of economy and planning for sectoral development, Dr. Ibrahim Babli.
The
aim of the workshop "logistics platform", is to highlight the transformation
project of the Kingdom to a logistics center, focusing on views about the
development of the ports of the Kingdom and the most prominent solutions that
will be activated in this regard, as well as providing a detailed presentation
on the approach followed by the Customs Department for supporting
the logistics sector, as well as the review of the role of public transportation
in the development of the sector and the latest developments of the railway
projects.
For
his part, commented the Secretary General of Asharqia Chamber,
Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Wabel, saying: The kingdom launched the vision 2030
out of the three factors, the geographic
location, as it is the link between the three continents of the world, and
which, if exploited in an optimal way would transform the Kingdom into an
international logistic
center, saying that such workshops and other events would brainstorm, providing
further views that support new economic plans, aiming to take advantage of all
the powers owned by the Kingdom, pointing that the logistic services of the so
important issues to the content of investment
opportunities are many and varied between storage and loading and unloading and
sorting, distribution, as well as the logistic services as the creator of the added
value of projects such as: repackaging and modifying the product, collecting
and quality control, checking and repairs.
