AlKhalidi: The first quarter of the Chamber's plan was more focused on small and medium enterprises.
The Chamber's Board of Directors discussed the achievements of the Chamber during the first quarter of 2018 and its commitment to the strategic plan and the financial position of the Chamber during the same period. The meeting was chaired by the Chamber President, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi.
Al Khalidi said that during the first quarter of this year, the Chamber has carried out a series of events that benefit the business sector in the Eastern Region and are in line with the ambitious national economic goals by diversifying the economic base and its sources of income. He pointed out that the Chamber continues to provide its annual activities and stimulate the business sector towards positive economic participation.
Al Khalidi stressed that the first quarter of the Chamber's plan was more focused on small and medium enterprises through working to increase the knowledge of their owners about the investment opportunities around them, in the belief of the Board of Directors of the ability of small and medium enterprises to move the national economy and absorb thousands of national labor.
It also provides the qualitative and quantitative expansion of the business sector in the Eastern Region, in line with the mission and vision of the Chamber in order to provide high quality services that meet the aspirations of the business sector through the optimal investment of available resources and renewable technologies and effective contribution to the economic and social development of the region.
Al Khalidi added that the financial report of the Chamber for the first quarter of 2018 was reviewed and included a list of the financial position and the list of revenues and expenses.
The Council commended the launching of the work of the sectorial committees, executive boards and business councils. It stressed the importance of its role in presenting topics and issues and studying the challenges facing the private sector in the Eastern Region and providing solutions. Also, it is the most important channel of communication between the Chamber and its subscribers on the one hand and between the business sector and government agencies on the other. It pointed out that the Council is looking forward to activating the role of the committees especially with the state of economic changes taking place in the country and the emergence of new sectors in the economic arena, and the new distribution of committees in the Chamber
