An invitation to unite efforts to enhance the presence of Saudi products in global markets
Yesterday, Asharqia Chamber witnessed on (Monday 5/June /2021) a virtual meeting between the National Committee for Exports in the Council of Saudi Chambers and the number of representatives of national factories in the Eastern Province, during which the emphasis was placed on cooperation and joint coordination to support the export option to develop tenders for national factories, and raise the level of their contribution to the field. Gross national product, and support the presence of national goods in global markets.
During the meeting, the committee's work plan for the new session 1441/1444 and the services it provides to sectors working in this regard, especially national factories aiming to be present in foreign markets, were reviewed. The importance of coordinating with government agencies related to exports, and working together to overcome difficulties, address obstacles, and enhance the level of presence of Saudi goods and products in global markets, has been emphasized.
The head of the National Export Committee, Turki bin Muammar, explained that the committee, through its new strategy, seeks to achieve the goals set for it by increasing the representation of the targeted sectors, consolidating partnerships, identifying obstacles and opportunities, providing advice and active participation with the authorities.
For his part, Chairman of the Industry and Energy Committee at the Asharqia Chamber, Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, stressed the importance of uniting efforts and coordinating between industrial sectors with the concerned government agencies, as well as the solidarity of exporters with each other to develop non-oil exports, as confirmed by the Kingdom’s vision 2030 and the various incentives provided by the state.
Al-Sheikh added that national non-oil exports, according to the latest statistics of the General Authority for Statistics, recorded an increase of 23.1% in the first quarter of this year, compared to the first quarter of 2020, when they recorded 59.9 billion riyals, compared to 48.7 billion riyals during the first quarter of 2020. In general, the proportion of non-oil exports to the total national exports increased from 25.4% in the first quarter of 2020 to 28.2% in the first quarter of 2021. Expressing great optimism about the future of the export sector, and enhancing its role in the national economy. He called for intensifying efforts towards attracting companies exporting products and services and providing them with full support by overcoming the challenges of their exports to regional and global markets and establishing broader paths of communication between manufacturers and exporters.
