On Wednesday November 7, 2018, Asharqia Chamber, represented by Asharqia Young Businessmen Council, held a meeting with Mohammed Abdul Aziz Alshaya, the Chief Executive Officer of Alshaya Kuwait and Chairman of Mabanee Real Estate Company, within the program "From My Experience," which is one of the programs of Asharqia Young Businessmen Council.
The meeting was attended by the Chairman of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, and a number of members of the Board of Directors, and many entrepreneurs in the Eastern region.
During the meeting, Alshaya stressed that integrity in work and maintaining good reputation are values that qualify for entrepreneurship.
He pointed out that the need for young entrepreneurs to set their eyes in the exercise of their work, because of their positive effects on the continuity of growth and sustainability and expansion.
He emphasized that the Kingdom in all its regions, especially the Eastern region, is currently living in a state of investment momentum, which requires young people to exploit and benefit from it.
AlShaya said that education has a big role in increasing the skills and expanding the awareness of people. He pointed out that university education has expanded his perception of the idea of investment diversification between retail and real estate and others.
He said that it is preferable for young people to not to complete their higher education with master or PhD only until after five years from the end of their university studies, so as to expand their life experiences in work during this period.
This would qualify them to study and get higher degrees from the university and be more aware and inclusive.
Alshaya stressed the importance of not denying the manual labor as they have to persevere and adhere to the dates as a basis for good reputation.
He pointed out that after his work of three years in the market when he was young, he has been asked to work in the company's stores.
He considered work of any kind as a privilege that strengthen the experiences of young people, especially with regard to transactions in the market and communication with customers and strengthen their power in the face of challenges.
AlShaya talked about the importance of supporting their employees and providing them with continuous training in order to develop their skills.
He pointed out that Alshaya Group is looking at the employee with a fair view.
He stressed, "we believe that work is for all and respect is for all and that justice is the rule of integrity in work."
He revealed, "Our family members are prohibited from working in the group for five years after they graduated from university. We are implementing the rules of governance in its entirety. The family's emotions do not interfere with the work, and therefore there is no discrimination between the family members and the employees in the group."
Furthermore, Abdullah bin Faisal Al-Breikan, the Chairman of Asharqia Young Businessmen Council, said that the realization of successful experiences by young entrepreneurs, such as that of Professor Mohammed Al-Shaya, who has been able to move forward and achieved qualitative progress in achieving his goals and has become a model to be followed, strengthens the young people's knowledge and experience, enriches their experiences and develops their skills, which enhances their competitiveness and strong presence in the local and global market.
He pointed out that Asharqia Young Businessmen Council is trying to play a role in preparing a new generation of Saudi youth through meeting with the pioneers and successful people around then, which will be enhancing and monitoring their experiences, ideas and innovations and helping them to embody them in the form of value-added investment projects in the national economy.
At the end of the meeting, the Chairman of Asharqia Chamber, Abdulhakeem bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, honored the speaker Alshaya, the Chairman of Mabanee Real Estate Co. with a commemorative shield.
