In an extended meeting about services of industrial cities
Al-Rabiah confirms: New projects with millions and strict punishments for violation of factories
We look forward to better industrial cities, keeping in touch with all responsible authorities
Tuesday meeting attended by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and Director General of Saudi Industrial Property Authority (MODON), Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, and members of the Chamber's Industrial Committee which was held yesterday evening, Tuesday (February 22, 2011) tackling many topics and issues about ways to develop services in industrial cities, and reviewing some of the obstacles faced by the industrial cities in the Eastern Region.
At the beginning of the meeting, which was directed by the Board Member and Chief of the Industrial Committee at Asharqia Chamber Salman bin Mohammed Hassan Al-Jishi pointing out that the committee has formed a number of working teams to follow-up on issues and obstacles faced by industrialists, in preparation for submitting it to the concerned authorities.
Al-Rabiah, speaking on the first and most important problems facing workers in the industrial cities, particularly in the second industrial city, the problem of high water level, saying that problem to be solved by the end next April.
Adding :"We are going to develop the existing industrial cities, with more expansion, and in our way to establish new projects, including the third industrial city with an area of 48 million square meters.
Nevertheless; Al-Rabiah a number of projects undertaken by the Authority the upcoming ones as there are many projects in the second industrial city about 181 million riyals ..We will also develop the road link of the Second Industrial City to Riyadh Road with a cost of 48 million riyal..
And in regard of future projects by the Authority he said that the most prominent projects is the development of the third industrial city, in which 1 billion riyal has been dedicated for us to set up such projects, in addition to planting both of first and second industrial city and reconstruction of roads in the second one.
For his part; member of the Industrial Committee Jamal Al-Ali (Chairman of the Working Group at the second industrial city taking by the Industrial Committee at Asharqia Chamber) where he expressed his fear that these projects are planned by the Authority will not be implemented as required along with the basic obstacles needed to be resolved quickly, and urged banks and restaurants to work in the industrial city through the branches, and also to provide cities with water service, sanitation and lighting.
Commenting on these remarks, Al-Rabiah said: "For the Red Crescent we have signed an agreement with them to provide this service.
And on the environmental pollution, he said that any environmental pollution occurs by factories will be shut down accordingly.
On the issue of violations imposed by the Authority on some of the factories he said that the goal is to control the system and quality, not the violation itslef, and if a factory committed such a violation and processed it quickly it will be canceled.
