On Tuesday April 24, 2018, Asharqia Chamber inaugurated its Business Council at the Qatif Governorate for the 18th session of the Chamber's Board of Directors. The first meeting was held during which the Chairman and Vice Chairman were elected.
In a welcoming speech, the member of the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber, Najib bin Abdullah Al-Sihati, stressed the keenness of the chamber to support the business councils in the branches, including the branch of Qatif province. He pointed out the promising investment opportunities involved in the province; "we have a great responsibility to monitor and then develop to achieve added value to our national economy."
The meeting, which was held at the headquarter of the chamber in the governorate, chose Abdelmohsen bin Abdul Majid al-Faraj as president of the council by acclamation. The council member Hisham al-Saif won the post of deputy chairman of the council after he won 13 votes while Hamoud bin Jasser al-Khalidi received 6 votes.
