A call for creating a single platform for all parties' actions
The expanded meeting of the commercial sector, organized by the Commercial Committee of the Asharqia Chamber on Tuesday 25 February 2020, called for a discussion of the most prominent difficulties and challenges facing the commercial sector with the laws and regulations of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development.
Participants in the meeting, which was chaired by the head of the Commercial Committee of the Asharqia Chamber of Commerce, Hani Al-Afaliq, discussed several issues, foremost of which are the challenges of the labor market, calling for a review of the "financial compensation" decision applied to localization of employment in the private sector, and that it be applied according to activities and occupations, according to the regions, especially in light of the wide variation in the level of demand for occupations according to the regions and activities, and they proposed some amendments in the Emiratization policy to achieve the goals of the ministry without harming the interests of the private sector and called for a system to apply the terms of the employment contract to the two sides instead of one party.
This meeting was followed by another meeting that brought together the commercial sector with the representative of the National Competitiveness Center (Tayseer) Abdullah bin Hassan Imran, which was devoted to discussing how to improve the business environment in the commercial sector, and the meeting, which was moderated by the Chairman of the Commercial Committee, Hani bin Hassan Al-Afaliq, called for the creation of a single "portal" that deals Through the private sector, it will be an umbrella for it, rather than the multiplicity of bodies with multiple and different procedures so that the image is clear to the local investor.
For this part, the representative of the National Competitiveness Center (Tayseer) Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Omran emphasized the partnership of the private sector with the public sector, which was mentioned by the vision that has the patronage and follow-up of His Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, reviewing the most important axes of the sector Course that will be discussed during the meeting and revolves around issues (systems and procedures, cover-up, reference, fees and taxes, logistic services, electronic commerce, human cadres, and (Emiratisation policies).
On the systems and requirements, the attendees explained that the electronic services are still retracted by some of the relevant government departments, unlike the Ministry of Trade and Investment and the Ministry of Justice, which are successful models in the application of these services, as well as the flexibility and streamlining of their systems.
On "commercial cover-up," they called for obliging SME's to use electronic payment methods that contribute to solving the problem of cover-up, as evidence of their great success in gas stations.
They concluded by calling for additional support for electronic commerce, especially the internal ones, through stimulation, training and the launch of more systems.
