The Deputy Chairman of Asharqia Chamber, Badr bin Sulaiman Al-Rizaiza, deepened the historical relations between the Kingdom and the Federal Republic of Germany with strong trade and economic relations, during the visit of a German trade delegation to meet the business sector in the region on Wednesday, January 10, 2019 at the headquarter of the Chamber.
The meeting was attended by Board members Ibrahim bin Mohammed Al Sheikh and Saadoun bin Khaled Khalidi and the Secretary General of the Chamber Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al Wabel.
The delegation, led by Roland Meissner, who said that these relations are witnessing qualitative developments in the wake of the Vision of the Kingdom 2030.
He pointed out that the delegation specializes in various fields, notably engineering and construction.
Al-Rizaiza explained that according to its huge budget for 2019, the Kingdom indicates that there will be huge government spending on mega development projects.
He called on the business sector in Germany to take advantage of the available investment opportunities, especially as the Kingdom has entered a new era of sustainable economic and industrial development.
He stressed that there is an unprecedented industrial development witnessed by the Kingdom, especially as the eastern Region, the capital of energy and mining industries Gulf, is embracing industrial zones (Jubail 1 and 2), Ras Al Khair and King Salman Energy Complex - Spark - inaugurated recently by the Crown Prince.
Al-Rizaiza praised the German-Saudi Economic Affairs Office (GESALO), which has become an influential player in the promotion of trade relations between the two countries.
In addition, Meisner said the German delegation represents a variety of products and services in the fields of engineering, construction, cloud services, landscaping, medical rehabilitation, and real estate consulting.
He pointed out that there is a possibility for Saudi students to study at Hochschule Niederrhein, University of Applied Sciences (HSNR), which has become an attractive destination for foreign students who are wishing to specialize in textile and clothing technology.
He noted that 25 percent of the 1,800 students in this college are students from more than 25 countries.
Germany is the fourth largest trading partner in the kingdom, with Saudi imports from Germany reaching 29.5 billion Saudi riyals in 2017.
The value of Saudi exports to Germany was 1.5 billion riyals during the same period.
