In a lecture that was held in Asharqia Chamber: 5 steps to build outstanding accounts on Social networks.
The lecturer at King Saud University and the Public Relations and Media Adviser, Tariq bin Abdullah Al-Ahmari, outlined 5 steps to build a distinct personal account on social networks. These steps could be summarize by focusing on choosing one or two areas at the most within your areas of interest and experience to introduce yourself, and working to understand the characteristics of each network separately to choose the most appropriate ones for you. Also, the steps include using the real name, not the alias, to identify yourself, and ensuring the establishment of a professional image of a clear face that is appropriate to the background of the account with interest in writing a brief personal definition reflects the interests of the account's holder.
This came during a lecture held by Asharqia Chamber represented by the Training Center recently under the title, "Applications in Personal and Public Relations in the Practice of Social Networks." In front of a huge audience, Al-Ahmari talked about personal and Public Relation as a new emerging science. He said this science plays a big role in helping individuals to create a positive mental image of themselves, to help them in managing their relationships with people and the public, and to create opportunities for themselves and making decisions about them.
Al-Ahmari pointed out that personal public relations are complementary, however, its practices could not be separated on the real world from the virtual world. He considered this rule as a scientific basis that requires the recognition of those who wants a positive distinction on social networks.
Al-Ahmari said there are (6) basic components that must be met in individuals who want to differentiate their personal accounts on social networks: (knowledge, abilities, relationships, values, behavior, ethics). He mentioned that it is not necessary for all of these competent to be available in high levels. However, he argued that the most important aspect is to work in strengthening the shortcomings and seek development, especially as these components/qualities could be acquired by any individuals, who work harder on their development.
Al-Ahmari explained the significance of awareness of laws, not to overcome them, because the knowledge of the laws governing the social networks would surround the personal account with a fence of credibility and safety. He stressed that commitment to ethics is a key factor in demonstrating respect for your personality on social networks. He pointed out to the need to reflect individuals in their personal accounts of politeness, as they are evidences of excellent communication ability and good behaviors. He emphasized that one should not humiliate others, accept criticism with a welcome, and avoid self-praising because people would create psychological barriers between them and those who praise themselves.
Al-Ahmari concluded by stressing for not following the suspicious characters, even if there are common intersections between you and them. Also, you must respect the ownership of any digital content through not copying their own content without mentioning their efforts, because it may ruin your image with your followers, as well as using the original source gives a mental picture of the excellence of your ethics and the strength of your information. He called for the need to pay attention to the diversity of the form of contents between visual, textual, audible, and visible. In addition, one should work more on the quality and the excellence of her/his own idea.
