A forum of related sectors to introduce the role of the family council
Princess Lulwa Al Faisal, member of the Saudi Family Affairs Council,
announced that the Council will hold a meeting this week to discuss the
challenges faced by the Saudi family and to launch the official website
of the Council. .

said through Tamkeen program which is held recently titled "Introducing the Family Affairs Council and its role in
empowering women" that a large percentage of Saudis do not know their
rights, whether men or women discussing the roles of the Council in the protection of the family and provide the information needed by the family.
For
her part, said member of the Board of the Chamber Samira Al Swaigh said that
the family is the soule of society and the secret of its success, and enabling the Saudi family to create the
foundations and the reasons for a decent life for all its members,
including women, which is half of society and the validity,
but the duty of all to ensure the stability of society and sustainable
progress.
Al Swigh pointed that the decisions made day by day reflect a
great interest in Saudi women, and a continuous desire to empower them
economically and socially, and facilitate their success in life and
work, in accordance with a new vision that ignited its status and
established the rules of empowerment in all fields.
The Chamber has been supporting the role of women in
adopting distinctive initiatives and introducing them to various
programs and their keenness to diversify their tools in awareness,
training to suit the developments and needs of the Saudi
market.
In
a working paper on the Council and its members, the Executive Assistant
to the Council, Haila Bint Muhammed Al Mukarish, said that the Council
intends to review the Personal Status Code, revealing the aim of
building a database for all members of the family, pointing that the
Council is an advisory council rather than an executive. In a large number of legislation relating to women and the family in general.
On the strategy of the Council, she said that she is currently in her
first steps, and the beginning in the preparation of a study entrusted
to the National Center for Studies and Research, this study is for
research and can identify the most important challenges facing the Saudi
family.
In the second paper presented by the lawyer and consultant Abdul Aziz Al Qasim titled "Introducing the Family Code," he spoke about the
"Family Code", stressing that the main goals is to modernize the
family regulations in the Kingdom, which explain their responsibilities
and duties and give them their full rights.
In the third paper, Dr. Hanan Al Sheikh, Pediatrics Consultant , talked
about the economic empowerment of women, pointing that the latest
official indicators reveal that the rate of female economic
participation in the Kingdom does not exceed 17.4%.
Regarding how to promote the women economic participation, Al Sheikh said that
this is through combating violence against women, providing education
and training, equality between women and men and empowering women in all
development plans, as well as developing health services for women.
In the end, the member of the Board of Directors honored the participants with memorial shields.
