Saudi non-oil exports grow 40% in May
Up to 11.9 billion riyals
As per official data that showed the non-oil exports rose to 11.9 billion riyals (3.17 billion dollars) in May, up by 40% percent from the same month last year.
The Department of Statistics and information mentioned on its website that the non-oil exports amounted to 8.5 billion riyals in May 2009.
Asian countries came in the top importers and by 30 % of non-oil exports in May, followed by the Arab Gulf countries by 23 %.
The data showed that the main non-oil exports include plastics and petrochemicals, which totaled 7.3 billion riyals, representing 61 % of the non-oil exports.
Above all, United Arab Emirates headed the Importers list by 1.3 billion riyals, followed by China, which imported products worth about one billion riyals.
