Saudi Arabia has handed out contracts worth more than 3 billion riyals ($800 million) for new roads in the kingdom as part of a massive investment programme, the state news agency said on Saturday.
Contracts were signed with various local firms, SPA said.
Saudi Arabia, the largest Arab economy, has vowed to spend more than $400 billion as part of plans to diversify the economy, upgrade infrastructure and create jobs for its growing population of 18 million natives, reports Reuters.
