Saudi Arabia: Non-oil exports going up 14% and imports up to 4%
The value of non-oil Saudi exports in the third quarter of the year 2010 amounted to 30,942 million riyals, up 14% compared to the third quarter of 2009. Meanwhile, Saudi importsincreased during the period by 4% to reach 92,675 million riyals.
The figures appear in a bulletin issued by the Department of Statistics and Information.
According to the data, plastic products led the list of exports during the third quarter of 2010. Plastics exports valued at 10,152 million riyals, up 62% compared with the same period of 2009, followed by petrochemicals whose exports amounted to 9586 million riyals, up 32% compared with the same period of 2009.
According to the Central Department of Statistics and Information which indicated that the plastic products were the most important supplies exported from the Kingdom during the third quarter of 2010 valued at 10,152 million riyals, up 62% compared with the same period of 2009, followed by petrochemical value amounted to 9586 million riyals, up 32% compared with the same period of 2009 and then the rest of the goods which amounted to a total value of 4803 million riyals and re-exported goods worth 3832 million riyals and food value of 2569 million riyals.
Saudi exports' main destinations include the UAE, China, Singapore and India.
