A total value of about 18 billion riyals
Rise in non-oil exports of Saudi Arabia 12.6% in October
Statements yesterday showed that the value of non-oil commodity exports from Saudi Arabia, in October last, 17820 million, up 12.6%, compared to the same period of last year. Data showed Central Department of statistics and information, the value of imports in the same period amounted to 44204 million, a slight decrease of 0.2 per cent, compared with the same period of last year. The Bureau said non-oil exports stood at 40.7 per cent of the total value of imports in October. The exports of chemical products and related, in first place, with a total value of 5706 million riyals, 31.74 percent of the total value of non-oil commodity exports, and plastics, rubber and articles thereof ranked second, with 5,672 million, up 30.02 percent, transport equipment and parts ranked third, with 15.02 percent.
Also represented Saudi imports of machinery and equipment, electrical machinery and parts, highest value to $ 6,668 million, up 24.75 percent of the total import value, and transport equipment, second place, worth 8,277 million riyals, with 18.75 percent, and third in normal metals and their products, with a total value of 5,137 million, up 11.62 percent. The Emirates came first in terms of the value of non-oil commodity exports, represented by 14.38 percent of total exports, followed by China with 13.80 percent, Singapore by 5.61 percent. In terms of imports, the US. ranked first, by 13.25 percent of total imports, followed by China at 11.49 percent and Japan by 6 percent.
