Minister of Commerce: Decline of Non-oil Exports does not Concern Us
Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, stated that he is not worried about the decline in Saudi Arabia's non-oil exports in the first quarter of this year, because his ministry is considering eventually the total annual exports, which average more than Gross national product (GNP). Non-oil exports fell by 5.9 per cent for the last quarter.
Al Rabiah predicted that Saudi non-oil exports will achieve "significant growth in the coming period" in light of the great development of Saudi industries and products, and the Ministry efforts to provide various incentives to ensure the growth of the industry and provide an environment encouraging it.
