Jeddah Commercial Forum kicks off
Under the banner of "Commerce, Partnership and Investment ... Development and Success"
Addressing bureaucracy in trade and investment-related government bodies
With the participation of more than 600 businessmen and economists, Jeddah Commercial Forum kicked off here Monday under the banner of "Commerce, Partnership and Investment ... Development and Success".
In the opening speech, the JCF President Nashwa Taher said the forum, organized by Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), tackles the academic aspects related to business strategies and challenges and development prospects of public and private sectors.
The Saudi Customs Department, Saudi Ports Authority and Ministry of Commerce and Industry are some key organizations that are representing the public sector at the three-day forum. Topics of discussions include new steps to check commercial fraud and ways to ease import and marketing formalities, she said.
The three-day forum touches upon a plethora of key trade and investment issues in order to create a favorable global business and investment environment.
JCCI Chairman Sheikh Saleh Kamel said the forum highlights the role of the chambers of commerce in supporting the economic growth through augmenting ties between the public and private sectors and increasing transparency.
He said the forum would discuss addressing bureaucracy in trade and investment-related government bodies to help encourage local and foreign investments.
