• Currency In Circulation Rises In Local Saudi Economy

    Again the volume of liquid currency circulating in the local Saudi economy increased in the last week, supported by a significant level of currency in circulation outside banks plus demand deposits registered a growth rate of 0.75 percent. 

    Data from the Monetary Agency showed there was a slight rise in the volume of cash circulating in the local economy at the end of last week ending 28 May, reaching 999.3 billion riyals compared with 996.6 billion riyals at the end of the previous week, for an increase of 2.7 billion riyals.

    According to annual figures, the Saudi economy grew by 7.55 percent to 999.3 billion riyals, compared to 929.1 billion riyals last December.
