The first compact solar projects in the independent production program
«Electricity» invites investors to create a gas station
The Saudi electricity company Invited local and international investors, to create an independent gas station to produce electricity in Duba on the northwest coast of Saudi Arabia. The company said that the planned station, capacity of 550 MW, operating cycle, enhanced by solar energy, located 50 km north of Duba in Tabuk. Ali Al-Barrak, CEO of Saudi Electricity Company said that comes within the company, to involve the private sector in the production of electrical energy, as independent producers, in accordance with the style of construction, ownership and operation. He continued, the station project 'first production' Duba, first merged with solar power projects under the program, the level of Saudi Arabia, comes in line with the General trends regarding customization, competition and private sector participation in electricity projects.
He added that the company determined on Sunday, 12 January next, as the deadline for receipt of letters of comment, with the company buying the whole energy produced from the 'first' production Duba, under a long-term agreement for the purchase of electric energy with the project company, which will be established for this purpose. Barrak said, this project is the fifth company projects to independent production, which was previously an electricity purchase agreements for four projects for new plants, in rabigh (2 stops), Riyadh and the village, with a total capacity of 9,000 megawatts. He said the company had contracted with global consulting firms specializing in the areas of technical, financial and legal, to support the development of the independent production company, to implement the program.
