Respected / Importers of Used Car Spare Parts
Asharqia Chamber presents its best greetings to you. And it would like to inform you that it received a letter from the Council of Saudi Chambers (No. (L / T / 1379), dated (13/5/1439), that referred to the letter of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment No. (23609), dated (1/5/1439). This letter includes the reference to the Ministerial Resolution No. (267/9 / 1/7045 / S) that dated (13/10/1438), which is about used spare parts. The issue was referred to the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Org. for study.
Accordingly, the Minister of Commerce and Investment approved the amendment of the first item of the Ministerial Resolution, which stipulates, after the amendment, that "the import of spare parts of used cars is not allowed, except for major spare parts such as Transmission, external limiter, differential, machine. These parts should be in frames, clean, and free from grease and oils. And they have to be labeled using the term "refurbished" and shall be written in an irrevocable manner with the supplier's approval of the conformity of these parts. The supplier should provide a period of guarantee of no less than three months "
