Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards, and informs you that it has received the letter of the Union of Saudi Chambers No. (45104038) dated (3/9/1445 AH), in which the letter of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture is referred to No. (1081186) dated (29/8/1445 AH), regarding the work of control and supervision. Applicable by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, represented by the Organic Agriculture Department, on all organic production units, their sales outlets, and companies documenting agricultural/organic production activities, based on Article (13) of the Agriculture System issued by Royal Decree No. (M/64) dated (10/8). / 1442 AH), which states in its clause (1) that "Without prejudice to the powers of other legally prescribed bodies, the Ministry shall supervise, control and regulate the activity of organic agriculture and approve and license organic certification bodies," and with reference to Article (two hundred and sixty-seven) of the executive regulations of the agricultural system. Which states: "The provisions, controls, powers, conditions, requirements, standards, technical specifications, and national slogans stipulated and clear in the executive regulations for organic agriculture activity issued by the Ministry shall be applied regarding organic agriculture.
Accordingly, the Ministry received one of the observations monitored by the officers controlling organic agricultural inputs and products, which was the claim of organic food outlets regarding their lack of knowledge and prior knowledge of the requirements and requirements for importing, trading and marketing local and imported organic food products, and out of the Ministry's keenness to implement the stipulated supervisory and regulatory procedures. And protecting the activity of agriculture/organic food production, processing, manufacturing and marketing from any wrong practices, in addition to enhancing consumer confidence towards local organic foods, and accordingly the circular was issued.
