Asharqia Chamber presents its best greetings to you, and would like to inform you about receiving a letter of the Council of Saudi Chambers (L / L / 2281) dated 16/8/1439, which referred to the letter of the Public transport Authority No. (03099-39-001) dated (13/8 / 1439). It referred to the letter of the Governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization No. (5436 / p) dated (22/7/1439), which states that Saudi SASO (No#SASO2288) has been issued for the road tanks - trucks and trailers that are packed from the bottom. It is stated is the article (5.2.3). Therefore, Iron tanks manufactured by this standard will be discontinued by the end of 2020 and should be replaced with tanks made of aluminum.
Accordingly, as of the beginning of 2021, the licenses for the operation of steel tanks for transporting petroleum products will not be issued or renewed.
