Asharqia Chamber presents you with the best greetings and would like to inform you of receiving the letter of the Council of Saudi Chambers No. (964) dated 20/4/1440, which referred to the letter of the Ministry of Commerce and Investment No. 17680 dated 19/4/1440 on a temporary ban on the importation of fresh pomegranate fruits from the Republic of Yemen.
It is based on the results of the analyzes that have been reached through the collection of samples of pomegranate that were imported from the Republic of Yemen, which proved to be contaminated with pesticide residues at a rate higher than the limit allowed globally and the decision of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority No. (306099/79731/1440) dated (13/4/1440) that impose a temporary ban on the importation of fresh pomegranate fruits from the Republic of Yemen from the date of 10/5/1440.
