Asharqia Chamber presents its best greetings to you, and would like to inform you of receiving the letter of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (47084 / GS) dated (12/6/1440), which is based on the role of the regulatory body on the products under its supervision and a reference to the efforts of the Authority to facilitate and accelerate the procedures for clearing shipments at customs outlets, as it is a requirement to release products subject to the control of the Authority, the origin of some of these documents shall be submitted to the Authority's offices at the ports.
It is noteworthy that from the date of issuance of this letter, the Authority will be based on documents images only, which will be required by the importer to attach them in the customs system when establishing the customs declaration to release all products subject to the supervision of the Authority.
Accordingly, all importers of products subject to the supervision of the Authority shall retain the assets of these documents for a period of five years from the date of the clearing to be submitted to the Authority upon request for compliance or whenever needed during this period.
The documents include what has been published on the Authority's website to open each product separately.
