Greetings,
Asharqia chamber extends its warmest greetings. It informs you that it has received a letter from the Saudi Chambers Union, number (45101451) dated (1/4/1445 AH), referring to a letter from the Ministry of Commerce, number (9897) dated (27/3/1445 AH), regarding the letter from the Grand Mufti of the Kingdom, number (44025480) dated (25/11/1444 AH). The letter highlights the prohibition of inscribing Quranic verses on jewelry and gold ornaments, as mentioned in the Grand Mufti's letter, due to the fear that this practice might lead to superstition, which is strictly prohibited in Islamic law. This prohibition aims to prevent the misuse and disrespect of Quranic verses, ensuring they are used appropriately and not for purposes other than what they were revealed for. This directive aligns with the Ministry's letter, number (06021) dated (2/4/1442 AH). This is based on the directive of His Royal Highness the Minister of Interior, number (21016) dated (17/3/1407 AH), which states that the name of Allah should not be written on any papers or documents that could be subjected to disrespect. Additionally, a circular was issued, number (12/99553) dated (12/12/1415 AH), based on the letter from the General Mufti, number (2581/2) dated (14/10/1415 AH), stating that the Permanent Committee for Fatwa studied the issue of placing the names and attributes of Allah (SWT) in various places where they could be subjected to disrespect. It was decided to prohibit this practice as an honor and reverence for the names of Allah (SWT). His Royal Highness desires the implementation of this directive and the removal of existing inscriptions.
