    Greetings,

    Asharqia Chamber presents you with its best regards, and informs you that it has received the letter of the Federation of Saudi Chambers No. (43100123) dated (1/1/1443), referring to the letter of the Public Transport Authority No. (217/43/1) dated (9/1/1443), and the favored The Agreement Regulating Land Transport Operations on Roads, Passengers and Goods between the Republic of Egypt and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia No. (M/10), dated (19/8/1411), which states:

    Article (Second) “The means of transport belonging to both parties, when they are in the territory of the other party, as well as their drivers and the passengers or goods they carry, are subject to all the laws and regulations in force in that country. The axial loads, dimensions, and weights allowed to travel on the road network in the country.

    Article (Seventh) It is not permissible in any case for cars of any type registered in the country of one of the contracting parties to engage in internal transportation in the country of the other party (defined by the definition), and it is also not permissible to transport from the country of one of the parties with cars of the other party to a third country.

    Article (twelfth) “The two contracting countries shall be granted, following their respective regulations, all the necessary facilities for private cars and allowing them to roam in their territories if they have their owners or those they delegate to drive, and they may not be used to transport passengers in return for a fee and it must hold a valid driving license.

    Referring to the meeting of the Saudi-Egyptian Joint Technical Committee for Land Transport, and what was discussed regarding Law (73) for the year (2019 AD), which is considered one of the regulations and laws in the Arab Republic of Egypt, which must be taken into account when foreign vehicles are inside the Egyptian territory, where the Egyptian side affirmed its full commitment to the provisions of The agreement signed between the two countries to regulate road transport operations (passengers and goods), and that it prevails over any internal legislation and that what is stated in the law does not prejudice it in any way.

    Accordingly, the Union hopes that the carriers of the Arab Republic of Egypt will abide by the provisions of the regional and bilateral agreements and abide by the requirements of the Egyptian side, as the Arab Republic of Egypt will apply fines to the violating carriers.​
