Gentlemen/ Members of the chamber
Greetings,
Asharqia Chamber extends its best regards to you, and informs you that it has received the letter of the Federation of Saudi Chambers (45507204) dated (24/2/1446 AH), which indicates that the Federation received the letter of the General Authority for Ports No. (1/38/5049) dated (22/6/1446 AH), which includes Circular No. (17) for the year 2024 AD, and which indicates what was monitored by the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority through the export movement at the border crossings of the presence of containers loaded with liquid materials that may be dangerous and flammable such as chemicals, petrochemicals or petroleum derivatives, which are materials restricted by clearance permits from the competent authorities or are materials that are prohibited from being exported abroad and remain for a long time inside the port yards and are exposed to direct sunlight due to not obtaining clearance permits in advance or not declaring the customs declaration of the correct material inside the containers or not completing one of the export conditions or the customer not reviewing the customs department, and this is considered non-compliance With instructions for such hazardous materials.
Whereas the Authority stresses that requests for the transport of dangerous goods carrying flammable liquid materials on board ships shall not be accepted unless there are prior clearance permits from the competent authorities for the exported shipment, and that the grace period for shipments to enter the port yards for exporters who have a prior clearance permit from the competent authority shall be (48) hours before the ship’s departure date.
Sincerely
