Light transport vehicle licensing

Asharqia Chamber extends its best regards to you, and informs you that it has received the letter of the General Transport Authority Union No. (696/46/1) dated (18/2/1446 AH), which refers to the approval of His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services dated (29/7/2024 AD) to grant establishments that have long-term vehicle rental contracts from licensees in the car rental activity for the purpose of using them in delivering orders, an exception to the application of the provisions of paragraph (a) of Article Thirteen of the regulations governing the activity of light transport of goods on roads approved by the decision of His Excellency the Minister of Transport and Logistics Services No. (1693) dated (3/12/1442 AH) until the expiration date of those contracts.

The Authority urges establishments licensed in the activity of directing vehicles to transport goods that establishments that have vehicles operating with them under the operational leasing system and rented by light transport establishments from one of the establishments licensed in the activity of renting cars to provide the Authority with data on those vehicles and a copy of their leasing contracts, so that the Authority can issue operating cards for those vehicles, provided that their duration does not exceed the expiry date of the leasing contracts, with the application of all other requirements included in the regulation, as a grace period of (30) days has been granted to provide the Authority with the data, and any other lists submitted after that will not be considered.
