Greetings,
Asharqia Chamber presents its greetings to you, receiving a letter from King Abdulaziz Port No. (16/33/38/2044) dated 25/1 / 1441H, starting from the initiatives of the General Authority for Ports in cooperation with partners from the government sector and the Saudi Company for the exchange of information electronically. In support of the National Industry Development and Logistics Program, which is part of the Kingdom's Vision 2030 programs, a truck booking service has been launched at King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, which is part of the projects in the management of seaports. Since January 2019.
The truck booking service aims to regulate the movement of goods to and from the port easily and in a short time, which stimulates the operation to exploit the full capacity throughout the day as well as accelerating the entry and exit of trucks and increase the operational efficiency of the port, one of the vision targets to make the Kingdom a global logistics center.
It is worth mentioning that the mandatory application to book the entry dates of trucks to the port for all types of trucks coming from the beginning of October (October 1, 2019), and therefore hopes the King Abdulaziz Port of all the committees concerned to take precautions and necessary measures in order to work on the success of this initiative, which has a positive impact on the system The Kingdom's economy in general and the logistics sector in particular.
